With Mathcad Prime 9 now well into its development, PTC have showcased some of the new functionality as part of the Mathcad Virtual Conference 2022. As with the previous release of Mathcad Prime 8, it looks like we will see plenty of usability enhancements to the software, but these are also balanced with enhancements to the calculation functionality within the software.

If this is your first look at Mathcad Prime, it is an engineering calculations software by PTC. It allows you to write out your calculations in natural math notation and with unit intelligence. It is a great way to document your engineering calculations in a professionally formatted document which can contain text, maths, images, and plots, all in one place.

PTC Mathcad allows you to write both simple and complex equations in natural math notation. Documenting your calculations within Mathcad is far more reliable compared to Excel or even just a sheet of paper! Most importantly, the calculation capabilities produce far more accurate results than a spreadsheet can provide.

Writing and solving engineering calculations can be difficult even if you are an experienced and knowledgeable engineer. If you are already using PTC Mathcad, your job is already easier – a lot of times you use the same worksheet you have put together a while ago, change the numbers, and get new results. Job done.
